Joinery
The Dovetail: The dovetail is one of the strongest and most decorative wood joints. When the tail is fitted into the pin slot a locking action takes place. Once glued, it becomes a mechanical and chemical joint that resists stress for generations. We use dovetails in drawers and sometimes in cases.
Mortise and Tenon: The pinned mortise and tenon is also a mechanical and chemical joint. Only the decay of the wood or the forcing out of the pins will destroy this joint. The mortise and tenon is used in the construction of doors, face frames, chests and Signature Collection table leg assemblies.
Corner Block Joinery: The corner block joinery is used on our Heirloom Collection tables. This system offers the best in strength and practicality as tables can be dis-assembled for shipping or storage with no sacrifice in strength when joined.
