Woods & Finishes
Woods: Most furniture items are made in native northeast cherry, cherry wood is defined by natural variations of color and is enhanced by the beauty of the natural finish. The natural hand rubbed lacquer finish adds depth to the wood and allows the unique grain pattern of each piece to emerge to add grace without artificial adornment.
Our furniture is also available in maple and priced as such, other specialty woods are available (ex: tiger/curly maple, black walnut, quarter sawn oak) but must be quoted per item. Some items are only available in limited species that are specified in the description.
We use premium grade lumber and hand select with detail to color, figure and grain. Variations in color and grain are evident and normal in all lumber and therefore occur in our furniture.
Finishes: To protect wood to last for generations, we use a high quality durable lacquer, followed by extensive hand rubbing. Our finish is best in overall performance, It provides a uniform, low-maintenance surface. A high-quality durable lacquer penetrates the surface of the wood, forming a barrier that protects your fine furniture from damaging elements such as moisture, alcohol, and fingerprint oils. Our finish is exceptionally smooth and honest. We offer several stain colors as well as our very popular natural finish. Not all pieces are available in every color. View our Color Chart.
